Anamorphic Lens Camera Mount

I found this little piece of work for $50 online:



Think it will work to mount an anamorphic lens to the camera? I'm worried about the bottom. I think the support bar needs to go more to the left in order to get around the camera handle. What do you think? And what camera do you think this will work best with? Let me know. I'm working on a web page now about this to be added to super8mm.org after purchase and testing.

I suppose in it's current state it could be used on a Nizo 6080 connected to the top. But I still don't know of a lens I could buy that would properly fit for under $100.

On the subject of anamorphic in general, I just read an article where Dante Spinotti said that telephoto anamorphic lenses are usually limited to f 5.6.

My GOD! I have no experience with anamorphic filming. Any comments on this?
